RENDERING
Once the issue of the thermal insulation is sorted, we must also pay attention to rendering as this is an extremely important element as well. Knowing how to render walls is a useful skill. Even more useful is knowing when your home needs rendering, and how much it will cost to get it done.
Changing and improving the exterior of your home is actually one of the most effective ways of adding value to your property, and new render is one of the cheapest ways of achieving this. You home’s exterior is the first thing that any visitors or potential buyers might see, so making sure it has got as much kerb appeal as possible is important, especially if the current exterior is in poor condition, or a mixture of different mismatched materials. Plus, it’s always much nicer to see a properly finished home when you’re sitting on some of the best garden furniture.
Aesthetic and durable renders – OPTOPLAST by Optolith®
Not only do renders determine aesthetics of the facade, but they also ensure adequate protection from a variety of environmental factors.
When deciding on the type of the wall finish, it is therefore necessary to consider hazards and stresses of the location, and to select an accurate render accordingly.
Optolith® offers different rendering solutions depending on the type and degree of „aggressiveness” of the building’s environment.
Thin-coat dispersive renders
The range of dispersive renders from the Optoplast group includes:
Silcolith – silicone render
Siloxith – silicate-silicone render
Acrylith – acrylic render
Due to their hydrophobic and dirt-repellent properties and, in case of silicone render, their self-cleaning properties, they are ideal for urban and suburban areas.
In addition, both a wide range of colours is available and a choice of several textures and grain sizes, which allows to achieve a great flexibility in their application.
Thin-coat mineral renders
The range of mineral renders from the Optoplast group includes:
Ecolith – fine mineral render
EcoRapid – spray mineral render
EcoFinish – fine-grained mineral render
Due to their mineral nature, they are ideal for buildings located in areas with a high risk of biological infestation (algae growth).
Owing to their limited colouring options, they are often used in combination with exterior paints. Their advantage is the availability of several textures and grain sizes.
