Malbork Castle

Malbork Castle is one of the finest examples of medieval defensive and residential architecture in Europe. The castle was built between 1274 and 1300, and it was the capital of the Teutonic Order from 1309. The castle is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. It also has been considered as the largest castle in the world measured by land area.

Scope and type of the restoration works included: 
  • Comprehensive restoration technology of the castle facades such as, among other things, the castle facades from the Nogat side, the so-called “Klesza” Tower, and the Palace of the Grand Masters (both western and southern facades have been repaired).
  • Restoration of interiors of the church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, repair of the so-called “Plauen” walls (in the extension, nearby entrance to the castle grounds), restoration of the main castle tower, and interiors repair of the castle church of the Blessed Virgin Mary. 
  • Specially prepared grouts in colour and grain have been applied, putty, injection mortars, and plaster in the castle interiors.
